Firth of Clyde & Trossachs Explorer

Join us for a holiday in Aberfoyle situated at the gateway to the Trossachs, an area of outstanding natural beauty with rugged hills and sparkling lochs.

Day 1

After being collected from your local pick-up point, we make our way North. Settle in for the journey ahead and relax while we go through stunning Scottish scenery, with comfort stops along the way. We check into the hotel late afternoon/early evening before an evening meal.

Day 2

Today we head to Edinburgh to give you plenty of time to explore and visit some of the many famous attractions. Head to Edinburgh Zoo to see the famous pandas, take a tour around the Castle (number one visitor attraction in Scotland), visit one of the many museums or enjoy some retail therapy. On our return to the hotel, we call at The Kelpies for a photo opportunity.

Day 3

After breakfast, we make our way to Largs passing Lochwinnoch and Kilbirnie enroute. Largs is a charming Scottish seaside resort, complete with Victorian promenade and a choice of ice cream parlours and shops. Close to Largs lies the Isle of Cumbrae, just a mile offshore. The town is known for a 1263 battle where Alexander III's army repelled Viking invaders. This heritage is celebrated at Vikingar!, a multi-media Viking attraction within walking distance of the pier. After exploring Largs, we venture on towards Gourock passing through Inverkip. Here we stop briefly at Kempock Point for a photo opportunity and to take in the stunning views. We continue further up the road to Greenock for some free time before travelling back to the hotel via Port Glasgow. After a busy day, we head back to the hotel for our evening meal.

Day 4

This morning we have a scenic journey through the Trossachs to Inveraray. This morning we travel over the Rest & Be Thankful Pass to reach the pretty, white-walled town of Inveraray, one of Scotland's loveliest towns and home to a beautiful castle and fascinating jail. We have a lunch time visit to Inveraray Castle where you can enjoy soup of the day with crusty bread, a scone with jam & clotted cream and either tea or coffee.

Day 5

After breakfast, we bid farewell to Aberfoyle and make our return journey home calling at Gretna Green
