Morning departure from your local pickup point to Harewood House. The house was built in the 1760s and is renowned for its magnificent Robert Adam interiors, superb Thomas Chippendale furniture and it's world class collection of paintings. Harewood has extensive gardens and a lake to stroll round including the Italianate Gardens designed by Capability Brown. Within the estate is the film set for Emmerdale. Harewood House was also a film location for Downton Abbey.
Full day in Skipton. There’s plenty to see and do in Skipton with independent boutiques, canal side walks and cafes galore. Follow the Real Ale Trail to discover charming Yorkshire pubs offering real ale and craft beers.
Free day in Harrogate. The hotel has a superb location in the centre of Harrogate, its just a few minutes walk to the picturesque town centre where you will find an abundance of boutiques and Victorian arcades. Those looking for a sweet treat will be spoilt for choice with great selection of courtyard cafes, bistros and tea rooms to choose from including the famous Betty’s Tea Rooms.
We begin with some free time in the cathedral city of Ripon. Onwards to Masham for a guided tour and tastings at the Black Sheep Brewery, one of Yorkshire's most well known beer brands. The tour takes about 1 hour, finishing at the bar with a beer tasting of some of Black Sheeps award-winning brews. Afterwards, we take a 20 mile or so drive through glorious Yorkshire Dales countryside, along the shoreline of Gouthwaite Reservoir and passing through the Dales villages of Ramsgill, Lofthouse and Pateley Bridge.
After a relaxing start to the day we check out of the hotel and make our way to Knaresborough. Explore the pretty side streets or enjoy a gentle walk alongside the river. Rejoin the coach early afternoon for the return journey home.
