Dublin & Wicklow River & Rail

Day 1

Morning departure from your local pickup point, we make our way to Holyhead for the mid afternoon crossing to Dublin. Continue onto the hotel. 

Day 2

A day exploring Co. Wicklow starting with a visit to the lovely Powerscourt Estate situated opposite the hotel and considered one of the world’s greatest gardens, with international collections, ornate 
statuary, inspired designs and magnificent views of Sugarloaf Mountain. Continue through the Wicklow National Park to the enchanting monastic site at Glendalough. We include admission into the Visitor Centre where we learn why this has become one of the most revered religious centres in Europe. 

Day 3

Begin today with a journey on Ireland’s oldest railway, following the coast from Bray to Dublin. Accompanied by a local tour guide you’ll enjoy a panorama of city, coast and countryside as the DART train carries you to the seaside resort of Malahide, where tea and scones will be served. The coach will be waiting for us at Malahide to take us the short journey to Malahide Castle & Gardens, a magnificent medieval castle. 

Day 4

What better place to begin your day in Dublin than on the River Liffey, with a boat cruise through the heart of the capital. A detailed commentary brings the city’s history to life as you discover some of the major landmarks including Ha’penny Bridge and Customs House. Enjoy a free afternoon in Dublin’s many galleries, museums, shops and cafes.

Day 5

An early departure from the hotel as we make our way to Dublin for the return ferry back to Holyhead and onwards to our local area.
