Turkey & Tinsel Cumbria

Get away this Christmas with a relaxing holiday in the Lake District. Located at the south of the National Park, Our hotel is set in 20 acres of private gardens and woodlands overlooking Morecambe Bay providing the perfect setting for your Christmas escape.

Day 1

Pick up from your local departure point and make your way to the hotel. We stop off in Skipton for some free time for sightseeing , shopping and lunch (not included ) return to the coach mid afternoon to continue on to the Hotel. After settling in you can get dressed for the evening and enjoy a glass of pre-dinner bubbly or sherry. Then it’s into the restaurant for a tasty 3 course carvery-style dinner with tea/coffee before sitting back and enjoying the first evening’s entertainment.

Day 2

‘CHRISTMAS EVE’ Tuck into a hearty full English breakfast and make sure you collect the Jumbo Quiz forms. Today we will take the short journey to Lancaster where you will have some free time. You might like to visit the castle and explore the cobbled streets? Back at the hotel, after a delicious Christmas Eve dinner in the evening, there will be another evening of live entertainment to look forward to.

Day 3

‘CHRISTMAS DAY’ After a delicious full English breakfast, we will board the coach for a scenic tour of the Lake District travelling through some of the most picturesque towns and villages? You will enjoy stunning views as you travel by and/or into the pretty towns of Ambleside, Grasmere, and Keswick. In the evening tuck into a traditional Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings followed by hot mince pies and tea/coffee accompanying tonight’s entertainment.

Day 4

NEW YEAR’S EVE’ After a full English breakfast, make sure you hand in your completed quiz forms. Today we will visit Kendal where you can visit the Castle, museums and all the shops before returning to the hotel for the final evening’s meal followed by the bringing in of the ‘New Year’ with great entertainment and the quiz results.

Day 5

A tasty farewell breakfast should see you fit and ready for the road home.

Cumbria Grand Hotel

The Cumbria Grand Hotel, built in 1880, is only a short drive from the majestic Lake Windermere. All guest rooms have en-suite, TV, hairdryer, direct dial telephone and tea and coffee making facilities. the hotel has a lift but as a result of the age of the building there are some period features of the architectural mix that might make access difficult for people with limited mobility.
