Middle England Winter Warmer

Escape the winter blues with a break to ‘middle England’ touring the glorious Shropshire region with included visits to some of the region’s best known attractions including Black Country Museum.

    Day 1

Morning departure from your local pickup point to Stratford-upon-Avon. The market town has more than 800 years of history and is well known as the birthplace of William Shakespeare. The town offers quaint side streets with unique and individual shops. Late afternoon we continue to the hotel.


    Day 2

We begin the day at Birmingham Botanical Gardens. The gardens offer something for everyone with four stunning glasshouses showing tropical rainforest to arid desert. In the afternoon we visit Birmingham.


    Day 3

Today we have a full day at leisure in Warwick. The town is graced with a wide variety of attractive parks and gardens, but is best known for the magnificent castle. You may choose to visit the Museum which contains displays of archaeology, geology and natural history.


    Day 4

Today we visit Black Country Living Museum. Covering 26 acres of former industrial land, Black Country Living Museum is uniquely placed to tell the story of the creation of the world's first industrial landscape. Take a trip on the tram to explore the canal side village, where you can meet and chat to the costumed characters. Explore the underground mine and experience the authentic sights, sounds, smells and tastes from the past.


    Day 5

After a leisurely start to the day we visit Hatton Country World. Here you will find a garden centre, antiques and an array of independent speciality shops, housed in beautiful Victorian farm buildings. Mid afternoon we continue our return journey home.

The Best Western Appleby Park Hotel is located on the outskirts of Tamworth. Guest rooms are en suite and have WiFi, TV, hair dryer, safe and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift to most rooms.
