Cornwall’s Gardens
Cornwall’s Gardens

Our new tour to Newquay is dedicated to the many glorious gardens the area has to offer. Probably most well known is Eden Project where you can experience the sights, smells and scale of the rainforests in the world’s largest greenhouses and discover the tropical plants that are used to produce every day products.

    Day 1

Morning departure from your local pickup to Newquay with comfort stops.

    Day 2

We begin the day with a visit to Lost Gardens of Heligan. Step back in time and lose yourself in Europe’s largest garden that was restored on a shoestring budget having been neglected for decades. Get lost in the exotic outdoor Jungle whilst adventuring along raised boardwalks past giant rhubarb, banana plantations and through tunnels of towering bamboo. This exuberant garden hosts a riot of luxuriant foliage, outstanding trees and inspiring views, drawing the imagination on a journey far from our temperate shores. In the afternoon we visit nearby St Austell, a delightful old market town.

    Day 3

Our day starts at Pencarrow House and Gardens. The 50 room Georgian mansion displays a superb collection of antique furniture, paintings and porcelain making the history of the house come alive. Surrounding the house are 50 acres of parkland, lake and woodland with more than 700 varieties of rhododendrons. On our return to Newquay we make a stop at Jamaica Inn, a smugglers museum displaying smuggling artefacts. The Museum brings alive many of the myths and legends associated with Jamaica Inn and Cornwall, including tales of wreckers and smugglers over the past 300 years.

    Day 4

Today we have a full day at the Eden Project. Dubbed the Eighth Wonder of the World by some, Eden barely needs introduction, but this epic attraction is more than just a huge, tropical garden, Eden is the gateway into the relationships between plants and people, and a fascinating insight into the story of mankind's dependence on plant life.

    Day 5

After a leisurely breakfast, rejoin the coach as we make our return journey home.
