Day One
A morning departure from your local joining point to Northumbria with comfort stops en route. |
Day Two
After breakfast we have a full day excursion to Holy Island with a drive along the coast. Holy Island, often known by its ancient name of Lindisfarne, is only accessible from the mainland at low tide by means of a causeway, which can be reached from the village of Beal. We return to the hotel late afternoon for tonight’s evening meal. |

Day Three
Today we follow Hadrian’s Wall, built nearly 2000 years ago by the Emperor Hadrian to mark the northernmost boundaries of Roman Britain. During the day we will make stops in the Roman town of Corbridge, the site of a series of important forts, and Chesters Roman Fort where you will visit the museum. |
Day Four
Today we step back in time with a full day at Beamish Open Air Museum. This world famous museum tells the story of the people of North East England during the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods. Here you will experience life down a mine shaft, try some tasty baked goods from Home Farm and meet the many animals who live at Beamish. |

Day Five
After a leisurely start to the day we depart the hotel and return to local areas. |
